The Irish words for wolf are Mac Tíre - "Son of the Countryside"
The Morrigan was a great warrior goddess in Irish mythology. She is often associated with war, and the incitement of conflict, but she also served as a guardian of the land and its people. The goddess was able to take any form of living creature she wished. One of those forms was of a large grey-red wolf.
The design of this ring was inspired by the artwork found on a Celtic bronze flagon found in France. You can take a look here.
