Sea Horse Pendant
The mythical sea horse, or hippocampus, was a fantastic creature found in Greek, Phonecian, and Etruscan art and mythology, and it is also commonly depicted in early Celtic art as well. It continues into Roman art and mythology, where the God Neptune is often depicted driving a chariot pulled by a pair of hippocampi, and on through Medieval and later Renaissance art and literature, and beyond.
